I kinda liked how there were guilds that actually had some kind of recognition...and there were many too that I can think of off the top of my head (HTF, KLT, Dark Aura, Tenketsu, Arcane, a few of Zack's guilds, etc.)...GreenRO has what...2? (not sure if Shinra even plays anymore)...but I guess some people didn't like HTF because there were a couple of people who knew more of what they were doing, and they don't even play on GreenRO...so that can sort of counter that 'more skilled players' arguement.

Eh. Mid-rate servers are a little weird to play on. You still level and equip yourself a lot faster than you would on low-rate servers, but there's still a grind. It's slower, but not slow enough for for the hardcore low-rate lovers. It's fast, but not fast enough for the people who want to be able to equip themselves to the nines and rip people to itty bitty shreds in a day or two. Moreso because PVP is enabled everywhere except towns. Now that Medic seems to have calmed down, s'why I'm not playing here -- I either wanna go fully low-rate (3x-7x) or I want to go balls-to-the-walls crazy with exp Can't speak for the rest of HTF, though. (Lineage2 is getting kind of silly now that I've finally gotten a grip on how PVP works. Given, it's a much prettier kind of silly than RO, but silly nevertheless. There aren't any counters for nukers yet, and I loves me my tanks. Paladins suck in L2 PVP, makes me sad. ) If you're considering resurrecting Squish itself, or maybe just Squish's rates, I'd suggest compromising. Keeping Squish on Green's apparently shiney computer/connection would be jawesome, for instance. The WoErs rather like not being tossed off in the middle of a fight. keeping the god item quests more difficult (esp. considering just how much bitching some of us got for getting them so EASILY coughcough) would be jawesome, too (but eliminate the gold requirement so you can keep the gold drop rate highish so we don't go bankrupt trying to break equipment ). Maybe you could even require castle treasure-only items to make them this time, unless they already have that. Drop the drop rate on boss cards, but don't eliminate the MVP room or bloody branches. Things like that. Just my two cents.

Nice two cents...except I don't have a clue about lineage 2 since I've never played it.
SquishtaRO did have slightly modified drop rates (as in not all items were dropped at the same rate, including cards being lower than others)...but yeah...I see what you're saying though.

Lineage 2 is an unapologetically blatant attempt to get you to pay an indifferent, incompetent company for the right to play something you've seen before, over and over again, in every other MMORPG that came before it. It's just wrapped up in a package so breathtakingly beautiful, you don't much care until you're seven months into the game and you realize the grind is about to send you running down the street naked in a fit of abject insanity. It really is gorgeous, and it does have a lot of potential... that hasn't been realized. On retail, play a nuker. Nothing can save you except SEVERELY overenchanted jewelry (the only thing that provides magic defense), a lot of CP potions (they work kind of like RO's healing potions, restoring a set amount of health instantly), and waking scrolls. On private servers, play an archer, because usually every other class is broken beyond the capabilities of the coders to repair (especially the archers' supposed main counter class, the tank; heavy armor users (tanks mostly) get a passive 50% damage reduction to archer and dagger damage, which usually does not work at all on private servers). My stubborn refusal to seriously play anything except tank classes has earned me nothing but frustration. The only "broken" class I can really think of on RO now is the Champion, and even they have counters (two classes have sp-draining skills, for instance). (Back when the second jobs were first released, it was the Hunter class, hands down. Falcon punch for the lose.) Paladins... have the potential to be broken, but that class' particular counter has nothing to do with another class in specific. It has to do with the skill of the player. On Lineage, the only classes that get passive magic resistances worth anything are MAGES. And mages don't actually fight the other mages in a well-planned group PVP; the archers do. Mages sleep or silence the other mages, and target the archers and daggers for actual spellcasting. Mages are also the only class that gets a set of armor AND a weapon that they can use at level 40 and VERY EFFICIENTLY ride until they can't level anymore (78). Class is the primary factor on L2. Skill isn't. Not like RO, where surprise of surprises, a support priest can saunter up to you, Lex Aeterna, Lex Divinia, Agi Down, and crit your ass into the ground if he's been built and played right. EDIT: AS A NOTE I NO LONGER RAMBLE AND I AM ALSO NO LONGER A PVP FREAK. LA LA LA.

But yeah...and then the GMs would join in and all was well. *coughunlessyouwereHTFcough* pffft.. i was in htf.. dun get why people dun like htf anyways.. >_<~ maybe i dun pay enough attention to anything @_@~ Well I didn't like you guys because of my commienationalistic pride in DA. Sieg had to keep me from killing our allies too. I hate everyone. Unless you join my guild and have passionate spritesex with me that is

People didn't like HTF because HTF kicked their asses without breaking a sweat, and they couldn't hate HTF because most of HTF consisted of pretty cool people if you sat down and had a chat with them ;] I don't need to go into what we were capable of. The only people that actually hated us were Tenketsu, some spineless, whiney passive-aggressive priest whose name escapes me, and his girlfriend, whom D-Boy and I had known for roughly a year and a half before she decided that OMG LIKE I should TOTALLY go with like how my like BOYFRIEND feels about like the like people I like knew for like a long time tee-hee that's hot I'm a simpering bubblehead ^____^ None of those guys mattered at all, ultimately. The best active PVPers on Squish were Arcane (of course), HTF (of COURSE), and (towards the end) The Returners. I'd say The Returners should get the most props 'cause they weren't hardcore overupgraders/item-farmers like HTF/Arcane, yet they got really, really fun to fight towards the end. They're the only guild that bothered to learn instead of whine.

the later guilds sucked because all the good guilds game and either quit RO altogether or moved servers. by the time you came White Twilight was basically 2-3 people and Dark Aura was already starting to disband. but anyways...... LOOK I HAVE A COOKIE!

So I've been thinking a lot...and I'm thinking of switching back to SquishtaRO. I have a lot of reasoning too, a little which comes from this thread I suppose...but overall I think SquishtaRO was the better server. I'll post again more of what I think later because I've got to go to school in a couple minutes, but I just wanted let you know that I've been thinking about it a lot.

If you're planning switch, can add those two new classes =D?

If you're planning switch, can add those two new classes =D? I already looked into them...they will be in it, BUT the skills aren't quite there yet (at all) unless they've done it since the last time I've checked (they as in eAthena, the emulator we use). But you can still play around with the new weapons they have and create new skill-less builds until they've developed all the skills. They look pretty cool though nonetheless.
